Description : The Canada Land Inventory is a comprehensive multi-disciplinary land inventory of rural Canada, covering over 2.5 million square kilometers of land and water. This digital dataset includes land capability for agriculture, forestry, wildlife, recreation, wildlife (ungulates and waterfowl). Over 1000 mapsheets are available on this site for direct download. The mapping of land capability for forestry is based on a national classification system comparable with the other Canada Land Inventory sectors. Land is rated according to seven classes depending on its capability to grow commercial timber in areas stocked with the optimum number and species of trees.
